Speaking in an interview, the actor Divyendu Sharma who played Munna Bhaiya was questioned about the rumors. He affrimed that he would not be part of season 3 even saying ‘unfortunately I won’t be in Mirzapur 3’. Many fans were disappointed by this news since Munna Bhaiya had become their favorite character.
Sharma’s depiction of Munna Bhaiya was one for the ages. The portrayal was animated with a mix of cruelty, charm and gallows humor. In seasons one and two, his rise to power and ultimate downfall formed important storylines. There is no doubt that Munna bhaiya’s absence from season three will create a gap but it also means new characters and plots can resurface in replacement.
